BEFORE YOU START

Good questions.
Clear answers.

The details that matter before you bring your world online.

What do I get for free?

Dirt costs $0 and includes 1 GB RAM, 3 player slots, Paper, player controls and world downloads. It is designed for a small test world. Start it manually from your dashboard; it stops after 20 minutes with no players. New servers depend on available host capacity.

Which Minecraft edition can I use?

ChunkCraft hosts Minecraft Java Edition servers. Join from a Java Edition client on a compatible Minecraft version. Native Bedrock servers and a managed Bedrock cross-play setup are not currently offered.

Can I use mods or plugins?

Every plan runs Paper. Fabric is available from Iron, with compatible server mods selected through the dashboard’s Modrinth integration: up to 5 on Iron, 20 on Diamond and 40 on Netherite. Required dependencies do not count towards that selection limit. Arbitrary plugin JAR uploads and Forge or NeoForge modpacks are not currently available.

What happens to my world when the server stops?

Stopping a server preserves its world data for the next start. Every plan also lets you download the active world. A download briefly stops a running server and starts it again afterwards. Retained backups are available on paid plans and are stored on the same host.

Can I upgrade later?

Yes. Choose a higher monthly plan when you need more resources. Upgrades preserve your world data and may restart the server. Activation depends on host capacity. Paid plans are billed in USD; review the total and renewal details at checkout.

How do my friends join?

Create an account, name your server in the dashboard and wait until Minecraft shows Online. Copy its address into Java Edition’s Multiplayer → Add Server screen, then share that address with your friends. Minecraft startup can take several minutes.
